- KOJC leader Pastor Quiboloy now considered fugitive
PASTOR Apollo Quiboloy, religious leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), is now considered a fugitive after failing to appear before authorities on sexual and child abuse charges, according to the National Bureau of Investigation-Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office (NBI-Semro).
A warrant for Quiboloy’s arrest was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 12 on Tuesday. NBI agents attempted to serve the warrant at various locations, including the KOJC compound and other properties but were unsuccessful.
“NBI considers him a fugitive since we failed to arrest him,” said NBI-Semro chief Archie Albao in an interview on Friday.
While unsure of Quiboloy’s exact whereabouts, Albao believes he remains in the Philippines based on immigration records.
The NBI is urging Quiboloy’s camp to facilitate his surrender and avoid escalating the situation.
Following the unsuccessful attempt to arrest Quiboloy, Police Regional Office XI director Brigadier General Alden Delvo confirmed the ongoing intensified efforts to locate the fugitive religious leader.
