POLICE seized illegal drugs from a 27-year-old man arrested for killing a horse in Barangay Dongan Pekong, Matanao, Davao del Sur, on Saturday evening.
Major Catherine Dela Rey, spokesperson of Police Regional Office (PRO) XI, said Arnel Pin Lingi, a resident of the area, will face a charge of violating Republic Act (RA) 8485 or Animal Welfare Act and RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Accordingly, the drunk suspect got irked when he was punched by another man. While he was on his way home, he passed by a horse, which he stabbed with the knife he was carrying.
The suspect was arrested in a follow-up operation where operatives reportedly recovered marijuana from his possession. They also seized the knife he used in killing the horse as evidence.
For now, the suspect is under the custody of the Matanao Municipal Police Station.
