A 28-YEAR-OLD man was arrested in Davao City on Wednesday night on 40 counts of qualified rape.
Alias Russel was apprehended at 10:34 p.m. in Purok Sto. Niño, Relocation, Mintal, Tugbok District, by a joint team from the Sta. Ana Police Station, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Davao City Field Unit, and the 1st City Mobile Force Company (CMFC) of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO).
The arrest was made by virtue of a warrant issued on Dec. 12, 2024, by Judge Glenn De Castro Aquino of the Regional Trial Court 11th Judicial Region, Branch 33 in Davao City. No bail has been recommended for Babao’s temporary liberty.
The operation, codenamed “Hubris,” was conducted based on an intelligence report.
Russel is currently detained at the Sta. Ana Police Station facing charges under Article 226-A of the Revised Penal Code as amended by Republic Act 8353 and RA 11648.
