THE RURAL Health Unit of Magsaysay said one Monkeypox patient in the municipality has already recovered.
“Ang unang kaso sa Mpox sa Lungsod sa Magsaysay gideklara na nga recovered,” RHU Magsaysay posted on their Facebook page on Friday afternoon.
The RHU said the 21 days isolation of the patient has concluded and is not reporting any ill condition.
As of press writing, the municipality has no active cases of Mpox.
However, the health unit stressed to follow minimum safety protocols such as wearing of facemask, avoiding crowded places and social distancing to prevent transmission of Mpox and other contagious diseases.
To note, the provincial government of Davao del Sur announced on Thursday, placing the whole province under mandatory wearing of face masks to control the spread of Mpox.
This is stipulated in Executive Order No. 20, Series of 2025, signed by Governor Yvonne Cagas, released on Thursday, directing the mandatory wearing of face masks and the strict observance of health protocols.
The order comes after the Municipality of Magsaysay, Davao del Sur, reported one confirmed case of Mpox on May 21.
As of press writing, the provincial government is yet to release a statement, hence order will remain imposed until lifted.
