KOJC members face charges after resisting arrest

EIGHT members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), including two minors, face charges for resisting arrest during a police operation served on Monday.

This was according to Major Catherin Dela Rey, the spokesperson of Police Regional Office XI, in an interview on Tuesday.

The operation targeted Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and five other church leaders.

Police raided the KOJC compound, Prayer Mountain, Glory Mountain (both in Barangay Tamayong, Davao City), and a KOJC property in Kitbog, Sarangani Province.

KOJC disputes police account

The KOJC claims three members were injured in a scuffle when heavily armed police attempted to enter the central compound. However, Dela Rey insisted that no such assault occurred.

Dela Rey clarified that eight individuals, including the two minors who were considered rescued, resisted arrest, and apprehended.

They were later released, but she said police plan to file charges against them through the regular filing process.

Police confiscated 17 bolos (machetes) and an improvised marble gun during the operation.
