Inter-barangay Mobile Legends tournament will also tackle responsible gaming, mental health

THE INTER-Barangay Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament on June 30 will promote mental and physical health awareness for the participating esports players.

During the iSpeak Media Forum on June 27,  esports consultant Krizzy Daugdaug said there will be a segment before the initiation of the tournament where a talk show format will discuss health awareness and responsible gaming.

“So tanan ni sila, ang top 64 [teams] naa didto even audiences especially parents nga mu adto gyud mismo didto mag support sa ilahang mga anak maka dungog and makabalo unsa ang pwede nila nga intervention nga buhaton,” she said.

They will invite experts like a nutritionist, fitness coach, physician, and a psychologist to discuss health factors and risks associated with playing video games.

“As of the moment, playing Mobile Legends and playing other mobile games or PC games is not only for fun. It’s also there to gather the youth to help them improve when it comes to teamwork, when it comes to some cognitive functions sa ilahang brain nga ilahang makuha,” she said.

Daugdaug also encourages the players to consider their health, enhancing communication, and financial literacy in building their future esports career. 

She added that the Inter-Barangay Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament will also impose stricter rules than previous tournaments to prevent profanity, spamming, or unwanted behavior.
