CREATING a new avenue of connectivity to reach more Filipinos, Globe has fired up over 200 stores across the country as pioneer hubs of its newly-launched TMBayan Fiber WiFi, a prepaid WiFi service that aims to deliver reliable and affordable connectivity for community use via fiber connectivity.
With TMBayan Fiber WiFi, Globe’s first foray into prepaid fiber, neighborhood tambayans will be powered by Globe’s fast and reliable fiber and available at affordable rates to community members who rely on connectivity for school, work, gaming, entertainment, and other online activities.
Globe launched its first prepaid community fiber initially in 53 areas in the National Capital Region (NCR); 89 in Luzon including Bulacan, Pampanga, Cavite, and Laguna; 31 in Visayas, specifically, Cebu; and 29 in Mindanao, including Davao del Norte and Davao del Sur.
Globe is set to tap more local retailers as partners that will serve as connectivity hubs across the country to provide wider and affordable fiber connectivity across all social classes.
“We are offering a new way to connect to the internet for entertainment, gaming, content creation, online bonding, learning and ways to earn at home. Barkadas, families, and communities have a new way to tambay– that is, not the idle kind, but a productive one as they share good vibes and fun moments,” said Janis Legaspi-Racpan, Globe At Home Brand Management Head.
“With our TMBayan Fiber WiFi partners, they have an option to connect to fiber for a much better and unlimited online experience that is more affordable. This also gives sari-sari stores and other retail partners a new earning opportunity as many Filipinos are still working towards recovery from the worst of the pandemic. It is a way to further empower and boost their businesses as they become the community’s new favorite “tambayans” or hangouts,” she said.
TM subscribers, Globe and even non-Globe customers only need to purchase a promo by connecting to the TMBayan Fiber WiFi portal to access connectivity at a nearby hub. Just go to WiFi device settings, look for @TMBayanWiFi, input the mobile number, and verify access using the one-time password (OTP) received via SMS.
For as low as P5, customers can connect their devices within the hub for one hour, while P20 will get them 12 hours of unlimited connectivity. Depending on the duration, they may also get a longer prepaid promo of three to 30 days for P50 to P500. Once a subscription is consumed, users can purchase another promo.
Globe continues to build its fiber assets, put up more cell sites, upgrade towers to 4G/LTE, and roll out 5G technology and in-building solutions this year through its P89 billion CAPEX allocation.
