Girl, 3, security guard hurt in fire incidents 

A THREE-YEAR-OLD girl suffered minor burns after a fire ripped through five houses in Barangay Lizada, Toril District, on Wednesday, May 29.

According to Senior Fire Inspector Frances Mae Sendrijas, spokesperson for the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) XI, the fire alarm was received by their station at 1:28 p.m. 

Firefighters arrived promptly and controlled the blaze by 1:50 p.m. The fire was fully extinguished at 2:59 p.m., the report said.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, the spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office, clarified that the young girl sustained minor burns on his left wrist and lower back. 

The fire resulted in significant damage to five houses, estimated to reach P195,000. The BFP XI is investigating the cause of the incident.

A separate fire erupted around 9:45 p.m. at a poultry farm in Purok 7-B, Barangay Gumalang, Baguio District.

 A security guard on duty sustained first-degree burns on his lower left and right arms. Firefighters extinguished the blaze by 10:05 p.m. The extent of the damage was estimated to reach P10 million.
