A GARBAGE collector died after falling from a garbage truck and becoming entangled in wires around 6 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, along Cabaguio Street.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, a spokesperson for the Davao City Police Office, identified the victim as Restituto Quirante, a 60-year-old resident of San Isidro Village.
According to the initial report, Quirante was alone on top of the truck while his colleagues were collecting garbage from the sides. The crew was reportedly using a private truck due to the poor condition of their assigned compactor truck.
Quirante’s body has been taken to Angel Funeral Homes.
The Davao City Police Office is currently investigating the incident and has not yet released further details.
