Freeze order

  • CA blocks Pastor Quiboloy and associates from accessing bank accounts, assets

THE COURT of Appeals froze the bank accounts, properties, and other assets belonging to Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and nine associates, following a request by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC).

Accordingly, the freeze order, issued on Aug. 7, aims to prevent the withdrawal, transfer, or concealment of funds and assets while investigations are ongoing into the child abuse and qualified trafficking the suspects face.

The CA ordered the freezing of at least 10 bank accounts under Quiboloy’s name, seven real properties, and five motor vehicles.

The freeze order also included Quiboloy’s Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) and Swara Sug Media Corporation, which owns the Sonshine Media Network International’s franchise

Meanwhile, the assets affected by the order include numerous bank accounts, properties across various cities, vehicles, and even an aircraft registered to Quiboloy.

The Kingdom of Jesus Christ, The Name Above Every Name (KOJC), a religious organization founded by Quiboloy, also has a significant number of assets frozen, including bank accounts, properties, and vehicles.

Several of Quiboloy’s associates, some of whom are co-accused in human trafficking and child abuse cases, have also had their bank accounts and properties frozen.

These associates include Maria Teresita Dandan, Helen Pagaduan Panilag, and members of the Canada family, among others.

Quiboloy, known for his close ties to former President Rodrigo Duterte, had previously named Duterte as his property administrator.

The freezing of assets is expected to significantly disrupt the operations of institutions owned by Quiboloy and the KOJC.

The government has intensified its efforts to apprehend Quiboloy and his associates as investigations continue.

Moreover, the freeze order is seen as a major step in the ongoing legal proceedings against the fugitive pastor and his alleged accomplices.

Meanwhile, the camp of Pastor Quiboloy has yet to comment on the matter.
