FPRRD: ‘No reason to shoot innocent people’

FORMER President Rodrigo Duterte admitted during the 11th hearing of the House quad committee on Wednesday, November 13, that he had no patience when it comes to criminals.

Duterte also admitted that he had already killed and was involved in the deaths of six to seven criminals when he was still the mayor of Davao City.

However, he insisted that there’s no reason to shoot innocent people.

Ano ito? Hunting sa safari sa Africa? Basta na lang babarilin mo isang tao na walang rason?” he said.

Moreover, the former president stood by his command regarding the war on drugs, saying that police officers were instructed to kill suspects who resisted arrest.

He stated that law enforcement officers have their own lives to protect and that if criminals fight back, they should rightfully be killed.

Full responsibility

When asked if he could acknowledge accountability before the families of alleged victims of extrajudicial killings (EJKs), Duterte maintained his previous position to take full responsibility.

“I assume full responsibility for whatever happened in the actions taken by the law enforcement agencies of this country to stop the drugs or the serious problem of the drugs affecting our people,” he said.

Duterte denies involvement in deaths of 3 Chinese in Dapecol

Former President Rodrigo Duterte firmly denied any involvement or knowledge of the deaths of three Chinese drug lords inside the Davao Prison and Penal Farm during the Quad Committee hearing.

He also clarified that he had no knowledge or involvement in the death of former PCSO board member and retired General Wesley Barayuga.

Duterte further mentioned that he had no information regarding the killings of several mayors during his administration, including Ozamis City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog and 14 others, Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr., Tanauan, Batangas Mayor Antonio Halili, and Los Baños, Laguna Mayor Cesar Perez.
