Four arrested for Illegal firearms, drugs at Davao checkpoints

JOINT Task Force Davao and Davao City Police Office personnel apprehended four individuals for carrying illegal firearms, ammunition, and drugs at various checkpoints on Wednesday, June 12.

According to the report, two individuals were caught with a caliber .45 pistol, a caliber .45 TEG-KG9 pistol, live ammunition, and 32 grams of suspected marijuana at the Lasang checkpoint around 4 a.m.

At around 9 a.m. of the same day, another person was flagged for possessing a .45 caliber pistol and bullets.

At the Sirawan checkpoint, an individual was arrested for carrying 3.5 grams of suspected marijuana.

Task Force Davao commander Col. Darren Comia commended the apprehending troops and issued a warning: “Anyone entering Davao City with illegal items will be caught by our security forces and face legal consequences.”

The arrested individuals were turned over to police stations for the filing of charges.
