A 57-YEAR-OLD former government employee was brutally murdered inside her house in Deca Homes Talomo, Barangay Bago Galera, around 1:25 p.m. on Friday.
Police identified her as Lilian Nieva, who died from at least 44 stab wounds on the different parts of her body.
In a report from the Davao City Police Office, the victim’s brother got worried when his elder sister did not answer his calls since the afternoon of Sept. 28. So he paid her a visit yesterday and immediately spotted the caked blood and the victim sprawled on the floor.
In the investigation conducted, the victim lived alone in the said house.
In the parallel investigation launched by the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO), it was learned that the victim’s iPhone 12 and an undetermined amount of assorted jewelry were missing from her home.
Major Romeo Mapanao Jr., the Baliok Police Station commander, said they are also looking at the possibility the victim knew the suspects. To date, investigators initially believe there two perpetrators committed the grisly crime.
He said they are still gathering witnesses and the CCTV footage from the perimeter of the crime scene for a clearer picture of what actually occurred.
