THREE individuals, including a two-year-old child, were injured when a fire razed 26 houses in Barangay Crossing Bayabas, Toril District, on Saturday afternoon.
The fire, which reached the first alarm, broke out at 3:05 p.m. on Jan. 11, quickly spreading to nearby houses.
Firefighters and volunteers responded immediately, bringing the blaze under control by 3:40 p.m. and declaring it extinguished at 4:41 p.m.
Sr. Inspector Frances Mae Sendrijas, spokesperson of the Davao City Fire District, said a woman and two-year-old child sustained burn injuries on their face and hands, while a 30-year-old man suffered burns on his face, hands, and back.
An estimated 40 families were affected by the fire, which destroyed 26 houses, including two two-story structures and 24 single-story homes.
The estimated damage to the property was pegged at P210,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
