A FEMALE police officer is in custody after killing a female backrider in a road collision at Purok 1, Barangay Hijo, Maco, Davao de Oro, at 12:35 p.m. on Oct. 8.
Major Ranel Marquizo, Officer-in-charge of Maco Municipal Police Station identified her as Captain Jodessa Loren Buenaflor, 28, single, assigned at Regional Police Security and Protection Unit (RPSPU) 11 and a resident of Poblacion, Hagonoy, Davao Del Sur.
Meanwhile, the victim was Rosalinda Torino, 61, married from Visayan Village, Tagum City.
In the report of the Maco Municipal Police Station, Buenaflor was driving her pick-up truck from Pantukan and heading to Davao when the motorcycle driver, Pablito Haran, 52, a resident of Barangay Cabayangan, Braulio E. Dujali (B.E) Dujali, Davao de Oro, suddenly made a U-turn.
Buenaflor could not brake on time before she smashed into the motorcycle.
The victims were quickly brought to the Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) in Tagum City but the senior citizen was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
