- Unattended baggage triggers bomb squad response
TENSION gripped some residents on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2024, over an unattended bag near Diner’s Grill along CP Garcia Highway, Buhangin, at 10:48 a.m.
According to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), a concerned citizen alerted 911 about the suspicious bag, prompting immediate response from the authorities.
Upon arrival at the scene, police officers cordoned off the area and requested the assistance of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Canine Unit.
The EOD team examined the bag and found unused clothes, plastic plates, and toys.
The DCPO commended the concerned citizen for reporting the incident, emphasizing the crucial role of public cooperation in maintaining public safety.
