AN 80-YEAR-OLD woman succumbed to her injuries hours after being hit by a motorcycle driven by a 14-year-old in Toril, District, around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
The victim was a resident of Purok 8, Upper Piedad, Barangay Bato, Toril, while the driver, a resident of Purok 1B, Luak, Barangay Bayabas, Toril, was driving an XR 200 motorcycle (plate number 2733LH).
According to the initial investigation by PSSg Graham Stephen Arcenas, duty traffic investigator of Toril Police Station, said the minor was heading toward Lantaw Banud Cafe in Purok 2, Banud when he accidentally hit Inao, who was then crossing the road.
Due to the impact, Inao was thrown forward and smashed into the concrete road, sustaining injuries to various parts of her body.
A responding 911 ambulance immediately transported her to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) for urgent medical attention.
However, Inao’s daughter, alias Flor, reported to the police that her mother was declared dead at approximately 7:30 p.m. by the attending physician at SPMC.
