POLICE are still hunting down the perpetrator who killed a senior couple at their house in the Green Orchard subdivision, Barangay Cabantian, Buhangin around 6:25 p.m. on Saturday, March 9.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), identified the victims as Gaudiosa Abraham Reutotar, 73, and her husband Romeo Bagion Lumoha, 67. The police officer, however, did not name the suspect.
Based on the investigation, the witness told investigators that he saw Reutotar sitting outside on the side of the road while the husband was in a shanty in the said area.
The witness said the 59-year-old suspect arrived on a motorcycle wearing a black jacket and without a helmet. Without warning, he pulled out a gun and without a word shot the victims several times. The suspect sped away after the incident.
It was learned from the victim’s son that three weeks ago, the suspect had an argument with the couple over a coconut tree that the killer cut down. At that time, the suspect threatened to kill the victims, according to the police report.
