Eden Nature Park reopens mountain trail

NESTLED at the foot of Mount Talomo in Toril District, Eden Nature Park and Resort has long been a haven for adventure seekers with attractions, like the Skyrider, Skycycle, Skyswing, and horseback riding. Now, the resort has added a new dimension to its offerings with the reopening of its mountain trail adventure.
Together with members of the Davao Hotels/Resorts Sales and Marketing Association, we had the opportunity to experience the trail first-hand, led by the resort’s marketing manager, Jeline G. Galagar.
“The trail is a 4.5-kilometer course that offers a diverse terrain, from gentle inclines to muddy ascents, which happens during the rainy season,” she explained during the pre-hike briefing.
Passing through the boulder trail
Our hike began at the Vista Cottages, adjacent to the resort’s swimming pool area. Guided by expert mountain guides, we navigated the narrow, winding path through the verdant slopes of the property.  As we hiked through the forest, we found ourselves traversing a hanging bridge, a boulder trail, and a series of creeks, ponds, and ravines. Pretty soon, the uneven landscape tested our endurance and spirit, especially to those who haven’t hiked in a while.
Traversing the hanging bridge
As we marched deeper into the woods, the air grew more crisp and fresh – carrying the scent of pine – while the symphony of the birds’ warbling and insect hums provided a natural soundtrack to our journey.  The diverse flora along the trail also added to the charm of the experience, making it a true escape into nature’s embrace.
A respite inside the forest
After a little more than two hours, we finally reached the final ascent to Lola’s Garden, the trail’s exit point. The muddy terrain near the end added a final challenge and a touch of fun.
For those interested in taking on this adventure, simply book an overnight stay at the resort or avail of their day tour package, then add PhP500 for the mountain guide fee. “Then, you’re all set for an unforgettable mountain trail experience,” said Jeline.
The final ascent to exit the mountain trail
Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a first-timer, Eden Nature Park and Resort’s Mountain Trail now offers this activity, which is also perfect for family and barkada bonding or company team building.
