EastMinCom honors Bataan and Corregidor heroes on Day of Valor

THE EASTERN Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) paid tribute to the courageous Filipino soldiers who valiantly defended Bataan and Corregidor during World War II during the Araw ng Kagitingan commemoration on April 9.

In a statement, EastMinCom emphasized how the “steadfast spirit and selfless sacrifices” of these heroes “remain a powerful beacon, guiding our unwavering dedication to safeguard our nation.”

The command called on the community to remember their bravery and remain united in upholding the flame of patriotism. 

“As we honor their memory, let us remain united in bearing the flame of patriotism—drawing strength from their valor as we strive to uphold the freedom they so valiantly fought for,” the statement read.

EastMinCom concluded its tribute with a resounding “Mabuhay ang ating mga Bayani (Long live our heroes)!” underscoring the enduring legacy and profound impact of the sacrifices made by Filipino soldiers in defense of the country.

Also, the 10th Infantry Division honored Bataan and Corregidor heroes on the Day of Valor.

“The men and women of the 10th Infantry ‘Agila’ Division, Philippine Army, proudly honor the courage, dedication, and sacrifices of our soldiers in the pursuit of peace and development,” the 10th ID said in a statement.

“Maligayang Araw ng Kagitingan! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!,” it added.
