EastMinCom conducts campaign review, honors outstanding units

THE EASTERN Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) celebrated its operational successes in 2024 during its annual Campaign Review and Assessment (CRA) Conference and Awarding Ceremony held at Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City on Jan. 13.

The conference, led by LtGen. Luis Rex D. Bergante PA, EastMinCom commander, brought together key military leaders from Joint Task Forces (JTFs), Brigades, and Battalions operating within the EastMinCom Joint Operational Area (JOA).

In 2024, EastMinCom achieved significant gains in its counter-insurgency operations, neutralizing 669 Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) members through surrenders, encounters, and captures.

“As we enter 2025, I urge everyone to continue embodying the values of duty, honor, and integrity that define our service to the nation,” LtGen. Bergante emphasized. “This year presents us with new challenges but also with new opportunities to strengthen our defense, deepen our commitment to peace, and advance security in this part of our country.”

During the ceremony, outstanding units and individuals were recognized for their exceptional contributions.

JTF Diamond and JTF Agila received the AFP Campaign Streamer for their successful operations against CTGs.

Notably, JTF Agila was commended for maintaining Davao Region’s “insurgency-free” status for two consecutive years. JTF Seahawk was also honored with the Territorial Defense (TD) Streamer for its successful implementation of external security operations.

The CRA serves as a crucial platform for EastMinCom to review its operational accomplishments, assess challenges, and refine its strategies for the coming year.

It underscores the Command’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling its mission of safeguarding national security in Eastern Mindanao.
