Duterte leads blessing of P155-M worth of vehicles

Mayor Sara Duterte led the blessing of newly acquired government vehicles at the City Hall grounds yesterday.

The vehicles are distributed to the City Social Services and Development Office, City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO), City Mayor’s Office, Central 911, City Health Office, and the City Veterinarian’s Office.

The CSSDO received four L300 vans, each costing P1.4 million. They will be used for the centers and facilities, such as the Balay Dangupan, Bahay Pag-Asa and CO SU GIAN Home for the Aged.

They also received one Kia drop-side pick-up truck worth P1.3 million for the agency’s monitoring in Paquibato District. They also acquired one Hino double-cab vehicle worth P3.5 million, which will serve as the mobile kitchen.

The CTTMO also received five Isuzu mobile cars, costing P1.4 million each.

One P3.5-million Sunlong Shenlong city bus, which can seat 50 people is placed under the oversight of the mayor’s office. The bus will shuttle teachers from the downtown area to far-flung areas.

Another Sunlong Shenlong, which can seat 36 passengers and also costs P3.5 million, is intended for the Davao City Investment Promotion Center and the City Tourism Operations Office to ferry tourists and visitors.

Both of the buses were donated by Nanning in China, a sister-city of Davao.

The city recently acquired two Rosenbauer aerial fire and rescue trucks, costing P64 million each. This is intended for the high-rise building disaster response. One unit is for the Bureau of Fire Protection and the other for the Central 911.

The CHO received one JAC Dynasty mobile dental bus worth P4.5 million.

The CVO has acquired one Kia k2500 4×4 high-side pick-up truck with customized cabinet and towing hook. This vehicle will serve as their mobile veterinary clinic and it costs P1.6 million.

One Kia 2500 4×4 high-side pick-up with body converted into dog pound, which also costs P1.6 million, is intended for animal rescue. The CVO has also acquired one Suzuki Super Carry pick-up (P643,740) for animal rescue.

One Suzuki customized impounding vehicle was also blessed yesterday. This vehicle, which costs P699,640, is for impounding stray animals.

Duterte said the total budget for all vehicles was P155 million and sourced from the 2018 annual fund.

“These vehicles acquired will help to improve the efficiency of government services, and can benefit the Davaoeños,” she said.
