In a statement released on May 12, 2025, Duterte said, “I acknowledge the results of the election and express my deep gratitude to all the supporters who stood with us throughout this journey.”
Duterte conceded that the election outcome was not what they had hoped for, but affirmed their commitment to the people.
“While the outcome was not what we had hoped for, our commitment to the people remains unwavering. We will continue to hold the government accountable, advocate for the issues that matter, and work tirelessly to serve as a strong and constructive opposition,” she stated.
Looking ahead, Duterte positioned the election results not as a defeat but as a new beginning.
“This is not the end—it’s a renewed beginning,” she said. She extended an invitation to a broad spectrum of the population to join her cause.
“We invite all citizens—regardless of background or past affiliation—to join us in building a powerful and principled opposition.”
Duterte concluded her statement with a call for unity and a vision for the future. “Together, we can shape a future that is fair, inclusive, and just,” she said.
Duterte’s statement came on the heels of the unofficial tally where only three of the PDP-Laban’s “DuterTEN” entered the Magic 12, particularly reelectionists Senators Bong Go and Bato dela Rosa, as well as Sagip Party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta.
