A CITY-LEVEL target was arrested in a buy-bust operation along the Bypass Road of Purok 1, Barangay Mintal, Tugbok District, around 10:20 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), identified him as Dennis Sarmiento, 52, and a resident of Phase 2, Roseville, NHA Buhangin.
Tuazon said the suspect was considered a top 3 city-level target.
The Drug Enforcement Unit personnel of Tugbok Police Station (PS 9), together with the 1105th Regional Mobile Force Battalion XI and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Authority, conducted the operation resulting in the arrest of the suspect.
The raiding team confiscated an elongated sachet of shabu weighing more or less one gram worth P18,000, a caliber .38 revolver loaded with three live bullets, and P1,000 buy-bust money.
The suspect is now detained at Tugbok Police Station facing a case for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearms).
