- Over P3-M worth of shabu seized from top city-level suspect
A TOP city-level drug target was arrested in a buy-bust operation near Arezzo Place along Don Julian Street, Doña Pilar, Barangay Sasa, Buhangin District at 2:09 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 27.
Captain Hazel Caballero-Tuazon, the spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), identified the suspect as alias Jay-Jay, 25, single, and a ceiling installer residing in Baywave, Barangay Ilang.
The operation was led by the Special Drug Enforcement Unit/Intel personnel of the PS4-Sasa Police Station, under the direct supervision of Major Marcille Manzano. Personnel from the Tactical Special Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion XI under the direct supervision of Capt. Edsel Licot (company commander), also participated in the operation.
The operation stemmed from intelligence reports and resulted in the seizure of seven large sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P3,417,816.
The arrested individual is now in the custody of the Sasa Police Station while the confiscated evidence was turned over to the Investigation and Operations Center for subsequent transfer to the Regional Crime Laboratory Office.
