THE DEPARTMENT of Tourism XI (DOT) will feature more thrilling adventure destinations in Davao Region and introduce beginner-friendly challenges for its upcoming Davao Adventure Challenge Season 2.
DOT XI regional director Tanya Rabat-Tan said in a media forum that they are aiming to include five or more sites for the Davao Adventure Challenge while the sites are still in its process of validation.
“For Season 2 , we just want to add yung manageable parin sa atin. Minimum siguro of five but there can be more pag natapos namin i-validate and pag duly endorsed siya ng mga LGUs natin,” she said on Apr 30.
The previous challenge offered 17 sites in the region where participants compete in activities of hiking trails, water thrills, diving adventures, and more to earn points. DOT XI recently awarded seven challengers who earned the title “Ultimate Conquerors”.
Rabat-an added that Season 2 will be inviting challengers outside of Region XI, and will be more inclusive for newcomers as well as for adventure enthusiasts.
“Those who would really like to do simple trekking activities may mga added sites lang tayo na pwedeng three hours ma complete mo na siya,” she said.
She highlighted that Davao Adventure Challenge’s three main objectives are to position Davao Region as the premier tourist destination, offer authentic experiences for visitors, and help community-based tourism.
