THE DEPARTMENT of Labor and Employment XI calls on more applicants to register for the 2024 Kalayaan Job Fair on June 12.
According to DOLE XI senior labor and employment officer Jenelyn A. Sanchez, 682 applicants have pre-registered for the 1,589 vacancies based on their latest data.
“The pre-registration portal is still open po even during the Kalayaan Job Fair on June 12. They can still pre-register if they want to skip two of the procedures sa ating job fair,” she said.
Sanchez hopes to be able to hire more applicants on the spot for this year compared to last year’s Kalayaan Job Fair. In 2023, only 114 were hired on the spot from the 660 registered job seekers. The figure translated to 17% of the total.
“We hope na by 2024 we will surpass these figures po. So on June 12, we’ll determine whether it’s below 17 percent or it’s higher than this,” she said.
The 2024 Kalayaan Job Fair at Gaisano Mall of Davao will have 4,370 vacancies with 2,592 for local and 1,778 for overseas. For local job vacancies, Customer Services Representatives remain at the top with 1,068 vacancies. Staff nurse is the most in-demand with 194 listed vacancies while the Czech Republic topped the list of five overseas sites with 330 spots offered.
