THE DEPARTMENT of Labor and Employment-XI urges eager and enthusiastic applicants to send their resumes and secure an interview with prospective employers at the Labor Day Job Fair in SM City Ecoland on May 1.
During the iSpeak forum on April 25, DOLE-XI Administrative Officer V Lorraine Grace Ugsang said they are targeting 5-10% of the total applicants to be hired on the spot.
“We are happy to report that there are still job seekers who attend these job fairs and not only our major job fairs but those that are kanang mga consider nato na mga mini job fairs conducted by our public influence service office,” she said.
The job fair at SM City Davao opens 6,147 vacancies, both local and overseas, with pre-registered applicants at 1,084 who are applying for 3,618 vacancies as of April 24.
“So for May 1, ang expectation nato is naa nay 1,084 ka applicants na mu attend tapos we are encouraging the applicants to please pre-register kay para dili ta mu dugay didto sa registration area,” she said.
Customer service representatives topped the most number of vacancies with 405 spots for the SM City Ecoland job fair. For the top 10 overseas jobs, the service crew is the most in-demand, with 290 vacancies bound for Saudi Arabia, UAE, Malaysia, and Japan.
SM City Ecoland is one of the three sites in Davao Region to be conducted on May 1 for DOLE-XI’s 122nd Labor Day celebration, along with Tagum and Digos, with over 7,500 available spots.
