DICT, CMA CGM launch SP8

DAVAO INTERNATIONAL Container Terminal, Inc. (DICT) and CMA CGM Philippines held an inaugural call ceremony on March 7, 2025, for a new maritime service ‘SP8’ to enhance exports of fresh commodities to global markets, and strengthen Mindanao’s export industry.

The SP8 service route covers Davao to General Santos and Singapore, operated exclusively by CNC, an Intra-Asia specialist of CMA CGM Group.

The service offers improved control, flexibility, and schedule reliability to ensure on-time cargo deliveries as well as offer trade opportunities for Mindanao’s agricultural sector.

Shipments from Singapore gain seamless access to CMA CGM’s global network in reaching key markets in Europe, the US, the Middle East, and Australia, providing a faster and more efficient delivery of Philippine agricultural products of bananas, pineapples, and other goods.

DICT, situated in Panabo City, is a member of the ANFLO Group of Companies and is located 300 meters away from the Anflo Industrial Estate (AIE). It is also the only port in Mindanao handling Panamax to Post-Panamax vessels.

The terminal currently has a berth stretching to 730 meters with an average draft of 15 meters at fender line, and a 15 hectare empty container depot that offers complete empty container services of pre-trip inspection for reefer containers, washing, maintenance and repair, ventilation, and more.

Port facilities include a terminal operating system, container yard, office spaces, power supply, and a designated examination area. DICT is equipped with quay cranes, reachstackers, rubber-tyred gantry cranes, terminal tractors, and empty container handlers.
