DEPED XI: Principal called to discuss the teacher’s death in Patukan

THE DEPARTMENT of Education Davao de Oro (DepEd Davao de Oro) Division summoned the Tibagon Elementary School principal regarding the death of a grade two teacher.

In a social media post by DepEd XI spokesperson Jenielito Atillo, he said the principal was called to a dialogue on Sept. 23, 2024.

This follows allegations made by relatives that the principal scolded the teacher, identified as Marjorie Llanto-Boldo, after a parent reported an incident that occurred in their classroom.

Meanwhile, in an interview with IFM News Davao, the teacher’s family claimed she died of stress allegedly due to being severely scolded by the principal of Tibagon Elementary School, Pantukan, Davao de Oro.

It can be recalled that one of the teacher’s pupils bled when they hit their head on the bench while dancing. The child went home, which prompted the mother to go to the teacher and talk to her. The mother also informed the principal about the incident.

Upon learning about it, the principal allegedly scolded the teacher. The relatives claimed that the teacher was hurt by the words and felt unwell. At one point, they brought her to the hospital when she became unresponsive.
