THE DEPARTMENT of Education (DepEd) Region XI announced on Wednesday that 12,411 teachers will serve as members of the electoral board in the Davao Region for the upcoming May 12 elections.

In an interview with TIMES on Wednesday afternoon, DepEd XI spokesperson Jenielito Atillo said the 12,411 personnel comprise 11,132 members of the Electoral Boards, 1,136 DepEd Supervising Officials (DESOs), and 143 members of the Board of Canvassers.
“They know their reporting dates and times,” Atillo said during the Davao Peace and Security press briefing on Wednesday held at The Royal Mandaya Hotel.
He added, “While they are awaiting the final schedule the day before the election, those assigned to highland areas are expected to be in their designated schools before voting commences.”
Atillo further reported that there are 22,378 established precincts and 4,189 clustered precincts across the region.
He also noted that the region has 3,376,470 registered voters and 1,459 voting centers.
“Our facilities are prepared, and our teachers are ready, with the support of other government agencies under the guidance of Comelec,” he concluded.
