THE DEPARTMENT of Education XI clarified that for the current school year 2024-2025, all classes will begin on July 29, 2024, and end on April 15, 2025.
On Wednesday, the Department of Education XI clarified that the old-school days will start in 2025.
This was according to DepEd XI spokesperson Jenielito Atillo during Wednesday’s Davao Peace and Security Press Corps press briefing held at The Royal Mandaya Hotel.
The June class start will return in the following school year, 2025-2026.
DepEd XI explained that this is by the law, allowing teachers a rest period to ensure their basic human and constitutional rights are not violated.
“It is important to note that Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte issued an order granting teachers a one-month break,” Atillo said.
Meanwhile, he said the department is not headless since Vice President Sara Duterte is their Secretary and her resignation will take effect on July 20, 2024.
“Whoever will be chosen as the next Secretary will be supported by the Department of Education and will continue what we have on the current,” he further said.
