DCPO seizes nearly P1 million in drugs, arrest 68 in week-long operation

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) seized nearly P1 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 29 drug personalities in a week-long operation from Sept. 22 to 28 in various areas of the city.

In addition to its anti-drug efforts, the DCPO also conducted operations against other forms of criminality, resulting in the arrest of a total of 68 individuals.

Under the command of acting city director Col. Hansel Marantan, the DCPO demonstrated excellent performance in conducting these vigorous operations, leading to numerous apprehensions and the filing of cases against offenders.

The DCPO executed 21 anti-illegal drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 29 drug personalities and the confiscation of 145.066 grams of Shabu and 10.63 grams of marijuana.  

These drugs have an estimated street value of P986,448.80 for shabu and P1,275.60 for marijuana.

Additionally, efforts against illegal gambling yielded significant results, with 12 gamblers arrested in five operations, P3,360 in bet money confiscated, and five cases filed.

In pursuing wanted persons, the DCPO conducted 26 operations, resulting in the arrest of 26 individuals, including six most wanted persons.

Moreover, one operation targeting loose firearms led to the arrest of an individual and the confiscation of two firearms. A case has been filed in connection with this arrest.

In total, the DCPO apprehended 68 individuals, showcasing its commitment to intensifying the campaign against all forms of criminal activity in the city.

These achievements emphasize the DCPO’s adherence to police operational procedures (POP), upholding the rule of law, and respecting human rights.

Marantan assured the public that security and peace and order remain the top priority for the police.
