DCPO partners for ‘Sa Likod ng Tsapa’ film, aims to highlight police dedication and support social causes

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO), under the leadership of acting director Col Hansel M. Marantan, officially sealed a partnership on May 28, 2025, for the production of an upcoming film titled “Sa Likod ng Tsapa.”

The DCPO, the DCPO-City Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (CAGPTD), and Pop Movie House Newsline Philippine Corporation signed the ceremonial memorandum of agreement at Kapanalig Hall, 2nd Floor, DCPO Main Building, San Pedro Street.

The agreement formalized the collaboration for “Sa Likod ng Tsapa” (Behind the Badge), a cinematic tribute designed to portray the life and public service journey of Marantan.

According to the DCPO, the film aims to showcase not only Marantan’s personal dedication and sacrifice but also to reflect the broader, unwavering commitment of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to uphold truth, maintain peace and order, and deliver genuine service to the Filipino people.

Beyond focusing on one officer’s service, the film is intended to shed light on the deeper mission of the PNP: to serve and protect, particularly the most vulnerable sectors of society.

It seeks to honor the “silent heroism” of police officers who go beyond the call of duty to ensure the safety and well-being of every citizen, regardless of status or circumstance.

A significant aspect of the initiative is its charitable component.

All proceeds generated from “Sa Likod ng Tsapa” are designated for noble causes, including supporting the DCPO Women and Children Protection Desk, aiding persons with disabilities, and providing care for abused and abandoned children housed in orphanages.

Through this project, the DCPO aims to reinforce its role not merely as a law enforcement agency but as a compassionate institution devoted to uplifting lives, defending the defenseless, and standing as a pillar of hope for the less fortunate in the community.
