POLICE recovered the getaway vehicle used in the Feb. 26 robbery of Hannah’s Jewelry & Pawnshop along Ilustre Street but a key suspect remains at large, according to the Davao City Police Office progress report.
A joint operation conducted on March 2 and 3 by elements of San Pedro Police Station 2, the City Special Operations Group, the City Intelligence Unit, and the Regional Intelligence Division led to the recovery of a silver Toyota Innova.
The vehicle was found parked along the Butuan City-Cagayan de Oro national highway in Purok 1, Barangay 24-A, Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental, approximately 20 meters from the residence of suspect Jerome Calo.
The operation, which also involved coordination with the Misamis Oriental Provincial Mobile Force Company, Gingoog City Police Station, LTO Gingoog City, and the Regional Highway Patrol Unit Misamis Oriental, was launched following a follow-up investigation into the robbery.
Police were dispatched to Gingoog City at approximately 6:35 p.m. on March 2 to conduct the follow-up operation. Despite locating the getaway vehicle at approximately 3:05 p.m. on March 3, suspect Jerome Calo was nowhere to be found.
The recovered Toyota Innova has been brought to the San Pedro Police Station for further verification and custody.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, the spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office, told reporters yesterday in the Davao peace and security press briefing at The Royal Mandaya Hotel that the investigation is still ongoing, and authorities are continuing their efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects.

“Those suspects that will be identified and arrested but lapse the reglementary period will be filed through regular filing just in case, but we are trying our best to locate and arrest the remaining suspects,” she explained.
