THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) clarified that the 238 personnel are scheduled to undergo medical examinations on Feb. 19, 2025, as part of the PNP’s routine wellness and health program.
The DCPO released a statement over the TIMES report uploaded on Facebook on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2025:
“The DCPO would like to address and clarify a news article published by Mindanao Times, written by Rhoda Grace Saron, titled: ‘BREAKING: Two hundred thirty-eight police personnel from the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) are subject to a medical examination to determine their fitness for deployment during the National and Local Elections and the BARMM Parliamentary Elections.’”
“To prevent any misunderstanding, we emphasize that the 238 police personnel mentioned in the article are scheduled to undergo medical examinations on February 19, 2025, as part of DCPO’s routine wellness and health program,” the press statement said.
“This initiative is a standard and regular procedure aimed at ensuring that all officers are in optimal health and fully capable of performing their duties,” it added.
“The primary purpose of these medical evaluations is to safeguard the well-being of our personnel and guarantee their fitness for duty, particularly in preparation for major events such as the upcoming National and Local Elections and the BARMM Parliamentary Elections,” the statement further said.
The DCPO said these proactive health assessments ensure its personnel are physically prepared to serve and protect the community without any limitations.
“Furthermore, we assure the public of DCPO’s commitment to transparency and the accurate dissemination of information.
