A HIGH-VALUE drug suspect, identified only as “Kap,” was apprehended by Bunawan Police Station 6 (PS6) during a buy-bust operation, yielding marijuana leaves with an estimated street value of P490,152.
The successful operation was conducted under the leadership of Police Major Ian James S. Acal, PS6 station commander.
“This achievement is not just a victory for law enforcement but a significant step toward securing our communities from the devastating effects of illegal drugs,” stated Colonel Hansel M. Marantan, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) chief, in a statement.
Marantan emphasized the detrimental effects of illegal drugs on families and the community, stressing the importance of eradicating this menace. He asked for the continued cooperation of barangay officials, local government units, and residents in reporting suspicious activities and supporting rehabilitation efforts.
He also reiterated the call for a unified effort to create a safer, drug-free Davao City.
“The fight against illegal drugs is not the sole responsibility of law enforcement—it requires the cooperation of every sector of society,” Marantan stated.
