Davao Police vow to apprehend Quiboloy, co-accused ‘soon’

THE MANHUNT for Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and four co-accused remains ongoing, but the newly appointed Davao City Police Office (DCPO) chief vows to get them soon.

Speaking to reporters after a flag-raising ceremony, Col. Hansen Marantan said, “My superiors have already made many statements on this matter, and we will abide by those.”

He did not elaborate further on the specifics of the ongoing operation.

In a recent press briefing at Camp Crame following the arrest of Paulene Canada on July 11 at Emily Homes Subdivision, the co-accused of Pastor Quiboloy in the child trafficking case, Brig Gen Nicolas, the Police Regional Office XI director, said they are actively pursuing leads and working tirelessly to apprehend the remaining individuals in hiding.

He expressed confidence that the remaining wanted individuals would be apprehended soon, stating, “It won’t be long now.”

Also, Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Rommel Francisco Marbil said the recent reshuffling of police officials in Davao City was unrelated to the ongoing manhunt for wanted Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and his co-accused.

Marbil said the arrest of one of the wanted individuals was due to the reward money offered and not because of the reshuffling of their officers in Davao. He acknowledged the difficulty of finding someone evading the law, especially since Canada was arrested only about two meters away from a police station.

However, Marbil said the reward money and wanted posters have been instrumental in generating tips from the public.
