A POLICE officer assigned to the Davao del Norte Police Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company (DNPMFC) was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Purok 42, Midland Village, Barangay Ma-a, around 2:10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20.
Captain Hazel Tuazon spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) only identified him as alias Richard, 45, with the rank of master sergeant.
Alias Richard, 45, was caught selling a sachet of shabu worth P3,196 to a police poseur-buyer. The operation also seized the PNP-issued Glock 17 9mm pistol, two 9mm pistol magazines, 20 live ammunition of 9mm, a color gray Suzuki Preso, an Oppo cellphone, a PNP Identification Card, and his wallet with P400.
For now, the suspect is under the custody of Ma-a Police Station while a case for violation of Sec. 5 of Republic Act 9165 is being prepared to be filed against him.
Major Ma. Teresita Gaspan, the commander of Ma-a Police Station, emphasized their campaign against illegal drugs is serious and won’t spare members of the force.
She said the DCPO is committed to bringing all individuals engaged in illegal activities to justice for everyone’s safety and security. They urge the public to join the campaign by giving any information that may lead to the identification and arrest of suspects.
“We urge every Davaoeño to join this campaign to eradicate illegal drugs by continuously providing any information that may lead to the identification and arrest of suspects,” the statement said.
