THE COAST Guard Station-Davao will send 175 personnel to four polling centers to strengthen safety and security measures for the national and local mid-term elections next week.

During the AFP-PNP forum on Wednesday, May 7, Ensign Patrick John Domingo, administrative officer of CGS Davao, identified Sta. Ana, Magallanes, Daniel R. Aguinaldo, and S.I.R. Matina elementary schools as voting centers under heightened alert.

These schools were considered since they are located near the Davao River and coastal areas.

Domingo stressed the possibility of adding more troops, stating they are currently seeking approval from high offices.

Naa lang tay upat lang sa ka polling center nga atoang gibutangan og tao pero hopefully, madungagan ni siya kay ga request pud mi og mga personal sa among high office,” he said.

As part of its measures, the Coast Guard will also conduct checkpoints in beach resorts and passenger ports, particularly Davao-Samal, Sta. Ana, and Km. 11 in Sasa.

The maritime agency already augmented security personnel in land-based checkpoints in Sirawan and Lasang, in addition to constant maritime patrols.

Moreover, the agency will remain on watch after the elections to ensure the safety of beach resort visitors.

Sa karon, gina-intensify namo ang among deployment sa amoang coast guard personnel. Labi na diri sa mga resort, naga conduct mi og roving patrols para ma-ensure nato ang safety and security,” Dominggo noted.
