THE DAVAO Coffee Council (DCC) said around 350 coffee enthusiasts and industry professionals will participate in the biggest annual Regional Coffee Expo at the Davao Convention and Trade Center on Sept. 20-21.
During the Agribiz forum on Sept. 3, Felicitas “Joji” Pantoja, DCC chairman, said the coffee expo will feature unique Davao specialty coffee, especially the Arabica coffee cultivated in Davao del Sur’s foothills of Mount Apo.
She said coffee specialists from Manila will share their knowledge of coffee innovation and culture, as well as other prominent Davao-based firms and personalities.
“Meron tayong mga taga Manila who will grace the expo,” Pantoja said.
Meanwhile, more than 15 stalls from different stakeholders and groups will also join the event.
Pantoja emphasized its goal of developing a vibrant platform that encourages communication, learning, and creativity among those involved in the coffee industry.
The expo will also conduct interactive exhibitions and workshops, and will further promote the expansion and advancement of the coffee business in the area.
According to Pantoja, aside from the product exhibition and training, there will be various coffee competitions, including Latte Art and Coffee Mixology, in which participants can register.
She added that such an event will help those who enjoy coffee comprehend the vital role that coffee plays in agribusiness, its resilience in the face of market trends, and the reasons why it will continue to thrive as a profitable industry even during the current economic slump.
