THE DAVAO City Fire District (DCFD) on Tuesday said it’s eyeing to put up seven more stations strategically located in various areas to intensify emergency response.
“Last week, nangadto mi og mga different places in the city para makapatukod mi og fire stations puhon matagaan tag budget, dito nato i-locate,” Donald R. Concepcion, DCFD Fire Superintendent, District Fire Marshall told reporters during the sidelines of the regular session.
Concepcion cited Bago, Marilog, Ma-a, and Lanang as possible areas for future fire station buildings. There are currently 15 fire stations in total.
Four new fire trucks will also be deployed in Bangoy, S.I.R, Buhangin and Cabantian fire stations.
“Dako kay na sya nga tabang kay ang atong fire trucks dugay napud nga nagserbisyo. At least na augment ang force kay, especially nagkadaghan ang structures sa city,” Concepcion added.
During the 14th regular session on Tuesday, DCFD paid a courtesy call to the city council following their request to purchase two units of response vehicle for emergency rescue operation.
The DCFP requested the amount of P5-million for the said purchase, which will be sourced from the 20% LGU share from the Fire Code Revenue under the Trust Fund of the city government.
Lawmakers passed the proposed ordinance granting the purchase on second reading.
“Gamit kaayo ang mga pick-up trucks, especially kung mag responde ta sa mga areas nga dili maka penetrate ang taong mga fire trucks nga dagko,”Concepcion said.
