THE CITY Veterinarian’s Office (CVO) said they administered 156,817 free anti-rabies vaccines for animals, serving 77,493 clients in 2024.
In a statement from the City Information Office, CVO said the 2024 record was an 8% improvement over the previous year of 145,186 vaccinated animals, due to their continuous dissemination among barangays.
“The CVO offers free services and programs for animals throughout the year including anti-rabies vaccination and castration for cats and dogs,” CVO stated.
The office was also able to castrate 2,626 cats and dogs, serving 1,846 clients in 2024.
CVO also reminded Davaoeños “to be responsible pet owners” and have their pets vaccinated as the free anti-rabies and castration programs will continue in 2025.
“Davaoeños are also urged to not let their pets wander on the streets unattended to prevent accidents and other risks,” they said.
To avail of these services may visit CVO’s official Facebook page, or coordinate with district offices and barangays for more details on the program as well as its schedule.
