Court of Appeals extends freeze order on Quiboloy’s assets

THE COURT of Appeals has extended the freeze order on Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s assets until February 3, 2025, according to KOJC legal counsel Dinah Tolentino.

The freeze order, initially issued on August 7 at the request of the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), affects numerous bank accounts, properties, vehicles, and even an aircraft registered to Quiboloy.

Assets belonging to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) and Swara Sug Media Corporation, which owns the Sonshine Media Network International franchise, are also included.

In a press conference this afternoon, Tolentino added that they have yet to secure a copy of the order.

“On the freeze order I really don’t have the copy on that second it is confidential so If I would it here baka po ma contempt of court ako and like I said I would rather wait for our lawyers in Manila to discuss that,” Tolentino said.

“But I do know that there is a freeze order,” she added.

Tolentino expressed concern about the impact of the extended freeze order on KOJC’s operations, including SMNI, the Children’s Joy Foundation, and Jose Maria College.

“This is going to be difficult for everyone concerned. It’s unfortunate that even innocent children and students are included,” she said.

The freeze order aims to prevent the withdrawal, transfer, or concealment of funds and assets while investigations into child abuse and qualified trafficking charges against Quiboloy and his associates continue.

Several of Quiboloy’s associates, some of whom were co-accused in the cases, have also had their assets frozen. The government has intensified its efforts to apprehend Quiboloy, who remains in hiding.

This extended freeze order is seen as a major step in the ongoing legal proceedings against him and his alleged accomplices.
