Coast Guard gears up for Oplan Biyaheng Ayos

THE COAST Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) is implementing Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Semana Santa 2024 to ensure the safety and security of travelers during the upcoming Holy Week and summer season.

Lt. Commander Angel Tobias, CGDSEM chief of staff, announced a heightened alert status from March 24 to 31.

This includes intensified patrols on key maritime routes and coastal areas and enhanced monitoring to respond swiftly to emergencies. Pre-travel safety inspections of vessels, including those at beach resorts, will be conducted to guarantee compliance with safety regulations.

Close coordination with the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), other government agencies, and the public is a cornerstone of the operation, Tobias said.

The Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) Malasakit Help Desk (MHD) will operate 24/7 to provide travel advisories, address complaints, and offer immediate medical assistance.

For emergencies or inquiries, the public can contact the Coast Guard Station Davao at 0927-153-2684 or cgsdvo@yahoo.com.
