THE COAST Guard’s Marine Environmental Protection and Response Group-Southeastern Mindanao (MEPERG-SEM) partnered with environmentalist groups for the comprehensive oil spill response seminar at Phoenix Conference Hall on Friday, July 5.
Coast Guard Commodore Rejard V. Marfe was invited as the guest of honor and speaker for the event, which also featured lectures and a tabletop exercise designed to strengthen the preparedness of various stakeholders and their respective Oil Spill Response Teams (OSRT).
The seminar underscores the Coast Guard’s and environmental advocates’ ongoing commitment to safeguarding the marine environment.
By actively engaging with industry partners and the public through educational initiatives, the Coast Guard aims to foster a culture of environmental stewardship and preparedness for potential oil spills.
