THE CITY Civil Registrar’s Office (CCRO) will conduct mobile registration, through trained teams, to bring its services closer to barangays, schools, and the indigenous people in Davao City.
During the iSpeak media conference at the DCIPC Building on Feb 8, Shirley Arendain, Registration Officer IV of the City Civil Registrar’s Office, said that mobile registration will be a more convenient way of civil registration services for people since they won’t have to visit the main office at Sangguniang Panlungsod.
The mobile registration is composed of three different projects, Barangay Civil Registration Agents being the oldest project, School Civil Registration Agents, and the new Indigenous People’s Civil Registration Agents.
These three projects where agents will be catering and assisting people with civil registration services and documents in their respective areas.
Barangay agents of BCRA will cater to people on documents like birth, death, or barangay certificates in the 182 barangays of Davao City. SCRA’s agents are teachers with some from DepEd, and guidance counselors in catering and processing school-related documents.
For IPCRA, 15 represented agents from different tribes will assist and provide services for the indigenous peoples. Shirley Arendain said this project will benefit the IPs in terms of civil registration services because there are IPs who are shy and sensitive.
According to Shirley Arendain, timely registrations are now more common than late registrations in Davao City than in the past.
“Compared sauna nga mas labaw man ang late registration compared sa timely registration. Pero as of now, nag leading na gyud ang timely,” she said.
Shirley Arendain also reminds people to be more aware of the importance of civil registration documents, especially on birth certificates.
