City Economic Enterprise surpasses collection target in 2024

THE CITY Economic Enterprise (CEE) slightly surpassed its collection target in 2024 but managed to achieve a 5.5% increase over its 2023 revenues.

In a radio interview, Maximo Macalipes Jr., CEE manager, said they collected P211,473,170.76 in 2024, representing a 0.21% increase from their target of P211,020,000.

Na-reach na gyud nato ‘tong income target na gihatag sa atoa sa local finance committee, so excellent na amoang performance (We reached the income given to us by the local finance committee, so our performance was excellent),” Macalipes said.

Macalipes also noted that the income marked a 5.5% increase from the office’s 2023 income of P200,479,369.86.

He said a huge chunk of their collection came from market operations amounting to P136,553,950.27.

The CEE also attributed the increase to “the city’s cemetery operations, slaughterhouses, and other income-generating projects.”

“We also attribute this success to the support of our Mayor Baste Duterte and City Administrator Atty. Francis Mark Layog,” he said.

Macalipes added that strong collaboration and partnership with other agencies helped ensure the office implements its policies and programs properly.
