THE CITY Economic Enterprise (CEE) reiterated guidelines for vendors and concessionaires as Undas 2024 approaches.
CEE head Maximo Macalipes Jr. said vendors with special permits from the Business Bureau are allowed to sell in public and private cemeteries in the city.
The city offers 287 slots for eight public cemeteries and 99 slots for four private cemeteries for concessionaires from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3.
For the public cemeteries, these are Wireless with 39 slots, Calinan (106), Tugbok (57), Mintal (20), Toril (34), Panacan (7), Bunawan (2), and Tagakpan (22).
Meanwhile, for the private, these are Buhangin Memorial Park with 42 slots, Forest Lake Cemetery- Maa (8), Davao Memorial Park (33), and Mt. Apo Memorial Park (16).
“Only the vendors with special permits are allowed to sell within and outside the premises of the cemeteries,” Macalipes said during the iSpeak Media Conference on Oct. 24.
The vendors are required to put up their own waste bins for biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclables. The CEE designated an area where they can throw the collected waste.
Food vendors are encouraged to provide to customers non-plastic alternatives for utensils.
Selling of “ukay-ukay” or used clothing, sharp objects such as knives, cutters, and scissors are prohibited. Food with barbecue sticks/skewers, liquor, and other intoxicating beverages are banned.
To avoid obstruction and endangering the visiting public, food preparation, cooking, and dining are not allowed on sidewalks.
Macalipes stressed that storekeepers must secure a health certificate or sanitary permit from the City Health Office (CHO) to ensure food handling safety.
