- 18 horses cause stir in Davao City, safely returned to farm
EIGHTEEN horses created an unusual sight in Davao City on Monday, June 9, after escaping from a farm in Tigatto and trotting their way to a busy commercial district in Lanang.
The incident, which saw the animals running loose and almost causing an accident to motorists, quickly went viral on social media as residents captured videos of the unexpected equine spectacle.
The horses were spotted at the parking area of a coffee shop in Lanang around 1:01 p.m., approximately eight kilometers from their farm, where they reportedly escaped around noon.
Personnel from Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Police Station 18 (Bajada) swiftly responded to the scene.
Mobile Unit 2123, manned by PCMS Baslan, Corporal Katigbak, and Police Auxiliary Saturos, under the direct supervision of acting station commander Major Marc Anthony Egos, secured the area and waited for the owner to arrive.
By 6 p.m., the police unit successfully escorted the 18 horses back to the Rodriguez Farm in Tigatto, ensuring their safe return and mitigating any potential traffic hazards or public safety.
